Hanover Park cops nab deported man

Hanover Park police picked up a man earlier this month who'd previously been deported to Mexico following a conviction for aggravated battery.

According to a complaint filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Chicago, Jesus Macias-Zamora, 24, was arrested in Hanover Park on March 5 on a parole violation.

Agents with the Federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement were called in and determined that Macias-Zamora, a Mexican citizen, had been deported last year after being sentenced to two years' probation in 2007 for aggravated battery, a felony. Fingerprints confirmed his identity.

He was transferred to Cook County Jail last week and then to ICE custody. Macias-Zamora is being charged with illegal re-entry and faces deportation again after serving whatever sentence he's given if convicted.
