VFW Post to host spaghetti dinnerThe Ladies Auxiliary to Watch City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1307 will hold its all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 24. Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for children ages 7 and younger. The dinner will consist of salad, spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread and dessert. The dinner is open to the public. Algonquin Road on Algonquin's east side. The community is invited to attend from 1 to 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person which covers the cost of shoes and bowling for the full two hours. Snacks and soda will also be available for purchase. A silent auction will be held throughout the afternoon. All proceeds will be used to enhance the Algonquin school's computer lab and technology program. All tickets must be purchased in advance; no tickets will be sold at the door. The festival features a weekend of music, entertainment, family activities and shopping. It's a themed event and dressing up in fairy, fantasy costumes are encouraged. There is entertainment by Patchouli, Gypsy Nomads, Mystic Harp with Megan Upchurch, native flute and hang drum musician Randy Granger and more. The vendor village showcases the finest fairy and fantasy handicrafts and artist from Illinois and surrounding states. The 10- by 10-foot spaces cost $150; after March 31, it will be $210.
