Conant Band goes to Disney World

The Conant High School Band and Color Guard will perform at Disney World in Orlando during spring break March 19-25. Wearing their signature red, white and blue caped uniforms with plumed hats, the band will perform in an evening parade at the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday, March 23.

Band students also will participate in a workshop at Epcot Theme Park titled "You're Instrumental," recording a soundtrack for a portion of a Disney animated feature. The color guard will take part in a workshop, also at Epcot, called "Auxiliration," rehearsing and performing a simulated Disney "special event" production.

The 145 students will travel by bus, escorted by band director Kreg Moorhouse, assistant band director Carlos Esquivel and parent and staff chaperones. The trip is funded partially by profits from fundraisers throughout the year.
