Politicians must keep their promises
Was I the only person offended by President Obama's response to Senator McCain's question during the health care meeting regarding the President's campaign promise?
Instead of saying something intelligent indicating why he could not carry through on a campaign promise, he just told John McCain they were not campaigning now.
When he was campaigning I felt then Senator Obama was promising far too many things I felt certain he could not do. Since I am an independent that was the reason I could not vote for him. This, in my opinion, is where we really need political reform. Candidates should be able to be held to their promises or at least a valid explanation as to why they couldn't live up to them.
Here is where the media could be very helpful to the American people by pressing for answers when the candidates so obviously do not do as they say. Aren't we entitled to honest people representing us? I do realize that even in everyday life we at times change our stance on certain issues, but we should at least offer an explanation as to why.
