Not a 'moment,' but DeWyze advances on 'Idol'

Although Simon told him he lacked a big moment, Mount Prospect rocker Lee DeWyze found out he was advancing to next week early on Wednesday night's "American Idol" results show.

Host Ryan Seacrest toyed with DeWyze a bit, asking him what he needed to do if he did indeed make it through this week.

DeWyze again insisted he'd seize the stage if given the opportunity.

"I mean I really don't have a choice do I?" he said.

Instead the panel sent home 24-year-old event coordinator Lacey Brown, declining to use the "judge's save" on her.

Introduced last season, as Cowell explained, the save allows the judges to rescue one person they think still deserves to continue on the "Idol" journey. But it can only be used once for the rest of the season and it must be unanimous.

Rounding out the bottom three were 20-year-old Tim Urban, whose reggae cover of "Under My Thumb" Cowell described as crazy and 24-year-old preschool teacher Paige Miles from Houston. Miles overcame a bout of laryngitis to sing a respectable "Honky Tonk Woman."
