No joke: Hawks to meet Leno

The Blackhawks will attend Tuesday's taping of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as a team after they practice in Anaheim.

A meet and greet with Leno is scheduled following the show for the players and other members of the Hawks' traveling party.

As of Monday there were no plans to have a member of the Hawks as a guest with Leno, such as Patrick Kane or Jonathan Toews.

"We're working on that," a Hawks spokesman said.

The Hawks open an important three-game West Coast trip Wednesday against the Ducks at Honda Center. They meet the Kings at Staples Center on Thursday then play the Coyotes on Saturday in Arizona.

The Hawks have lost two straight and three of their last four.

"We've got to step it up now and have a really good road trip and try to come home with 6 points," said defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson.

About time: DirecTV and Comcast reached an agreement Monday settling their dispute that has prevented hockey fans with DirecTV from receiving those games televised nationally on Versus.

All DirecTV packages began receiving Versus on Monday.

Ovechkin polls: In a TSN.ca poll of more than 6,000 readers, 55 percent thought the two-game suspension Alex Ovechkin received on Monday from the NHL for his hit on Hawks defenseman Brian Campbell was not enough.

Almost 28 percent felt two games was just the right punishment while 17 percent thought it was too harsh.

In a Washington Post on-line poll, 78 percent of the readers participating felt Ovechkin shouldn't have been suspended at all.

Wounded Ducks: Ryan Getzlaf and Teemu Selanne are doubtful to play Wednesday against the Hawks after suffering injuries in Sunday's win over San Jose.

Both players had MRIs on Monday with Selanne's showing a slightly sprained left shoulder and Getzlaf's an inflamed left ankle.

The Hawks are 1-2 against the Ducks this season.
