Mount Prospect vehicle stickers on sale
Mount Prospect vehicle stickers must be displayed by May 1.
Passenger vehicle stickers are $36, motorcycle stickers are $24, and trucks with B plates, $54. Senior rates are available for residents 65 and over (with proof of age). However, only one reduced rate ($12) sticker per household is allowed. Senior rate stickers can only be purchased at village hall.
If you bought one or more stickers last year, you should have received a renewal application in the mail during the first week in February and you can purchase stickers by mail. Applications must be mailed by April 9 to insure receipt of sticker by April 30. Stickers also can be purchased at village hall, 50 S. Emerson St., from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 10, 17 and 24.
To avoid lines, people can use depository boxes outside the front door of village hall and in the parking garage, or for a $2 surcharge, go to Algonquin-Busse Currency Exchange, 1725 W. Algonquin Road; RecPlex, 420 W. Dempster St.; or Central Community Center, 1000 W. Central Road. In 2009, police issued 4,974 citations for "no vehicle sticker." In the case of new residents or new vehicles, late fees apply after 30 days from move-in or purchase date.
