Elginbull; Police are investigating a shooting early Monday morning that sent a bullet through the kitchen wall of a home in the 100 block of Birch Street and gouged its ceiling. Reports didn't specify whether the shot, reported about 6:30 a.m., came from inside or outside the house.bull; Christine H. Case, 45, of the 1200 block of Fleetwood Drive, Elgin, was charged Monday with felony retail theft at the Walmart in the 1000 block of North Randall Road. Police said Case, an employee in the store's electronic department, and was caught on camera deactivating security bar codes on $635 worth of merchandise, including an iPod touch, a video game, an iPod adapter, a GPS unit and a video game controller. At the end of her shift, she took all of the items from her locker, put them in a bag and left the store's last point of purchase without paying, reports said. Police also discovered a four-pack of an energy drink among the stolen items. Her bond was set at $10,000 and she is due in court March 16 at the Kane County Judicial Center.Crystal Lakebull; James A. Stumpner, 48, of the 1500 block of Bridgedale Court, Crystal Lake, was arrested at 5:05 a.m. Monday and charged with three counts of disorderly conduct after police said he was caught peeping in a woman's apartment. Cmdr. Mike Brichetto said police had received several peeping complaints from female residents in the Skyridge apartment complex in recent months, so the department set up surveillance. Brichetto said officers arrested Stumpner as he peered into the window of a woman's apartment near Ackman and Randall roads. Stumpner posted bond and is due in court April 1 on the misdemeanor charges.Kane Countybull; Nicole M. Wade, 26, of the 300 block of Dwight Avenue, Elgin, was arrested at 2:29 a.m. Sunday on charges of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving under the combined influence of alcohol and drugs after crashing a Toyota 4 Runner into a field at Plank Road and James Street in the unincorporated Burlington area, police said. According to a report, Wade told police she injected cocaine and was drinking shortly before the crash. Wade, who was treated at a hospital, said she had been awake for two days and fell asleep at the wheel. Also arrested was passenger Jorge L. Galvan, 24, of the 100 block of North McLean Boulevard, Elgin, who was wanted on arrest warrants in Bartlett and McHenry County, police said. bull; A vehicle window valued at $100 to $200 was reported damaged Sunday on the 8N600 block of Shady Lane in the unincorporated Elgin area, police said. bull; Several pieces of jewelry valued at about $5,000 were reported stolen March 3 from a house on the 6N700 block Virginia Court in the unincorporated St. Charles area, according to police.
