Bensenville's Mohawk School recognized
Bensenville District 2's Mohawk School was named a 2009 Spotlight School by the Illinois State Board of Education as part of the Illinois Honor Roll. The award recognizes schools where academic performance shows the achievement gap closing among low-income students and overall student averages.
Mohawk is among 425 Spotlight Schools earning the honor this year. In the school's 2009 School Report card, Mohawk's overall Illinois Standards Achievement Test score saw 84.6 percent of students meeting or exceeding state standards.
