Illinois celebrates Lincoln, Washington

Lincoln lost in the shuffle? In response to the Saturday Soapbox comments about the importance of Lincoln 's birthday possibly being "undermined" in the "Land of Lincoln," perhaps that's true regarding the lack of media coverage.

However, the near-bankrupt state of Illinois made sure to separate Lincoln's Birthday from Washington's by generously giving its employees the 12th and 15th off!
