Arlington Heights bull; Kevin Chatman-Long, 42, of the 1700 block of Forest Cove Drive, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 9:20 p.m. Feb. 23 after a traffic stop on the 400 block of West Algonquin Road and charged with possession of marijuana. An officer and police dog found two small bags of marijuana in the car he was driving, reports said. Two female passengers were released without charges. His court date is March 23. bull; Michelle R. Gonzalez, 25, of the 100 block of East Dennis Road, Wheeling, was arrested around 2:40 p.m. Feb. 26 at Kohl's, 800 W. Dundee Road, and charged with local ordinance retail theft. Reports said she hid two pairs of jeans valued at $58 in her purse.bull; Vandals dented the trunk lid and passenger's-side mirror and front door on a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta at a home on the 2400 block of South Goebbert Road between 9:15 p.m. Feb. 21 and 9 a.m. Feb. 22 and shot BB-gun pellets into the front passenger's-side window on a rental 2010 Toyota Camry at the same home between 10 p.m. Feb. 24 and 9:20 a.m. Feb. 25. Damage was estimated at $1,000. bull; Thieves stole eight spools of copper wire and damaged cable ground wire at the Arlington Lexus construction site, 1501 W. Officers spoke with the youths and requested that they stop their activity, which they did. No damage was observed and the youths' parents were notified of the police contact. bull; Someone took credit cards and a ring valued at $16,750 from a car parked in a lot in the 600 block of W. Deerfield Parkway between 6 p.m. and 8:10 p.m. Feb. 22. The victim reported that when she returned to her vehicle she found that someone had broken the passenger side window of her vehicle and removed her purse.bull; A resident reported that a burglary occurred sometime between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Feb. 24 in the 1200 block of Johnson Drive. The victim told police that when she returned home, she found that her patio sliding doors were wide open. The resident then noticed that her 32" flat screen TV was missing. A further check revealed that a Sony digital camera, a Dell laptop computer, a remote control and a Wii sensor bar were also missing.Des Plainesbull; Ollie B. Hampton, 25, of the 1600 block of Harold Avenue, Louisville, Ky., and Taylor N. Wilander, 20, of the 1100 block of Sale Avenue, Louisville, Ky., were arrested around 12:15 a.m. Feb. 27 at the Extended Stay America Hotel, 1201 E. Touhy Ave. Hampton was charged with city ordinance keeping a house of prostitution; Wilander was charged with city ordinance prostitution. Their court date is March 19.bull; A pouch with fundraiser checks and cash valued between $15,000 and $17,000 fell off the roof of a vehicle on the 100 block of South Wolf Road around 9 a.m. Feb. 28 after the victim forgot the bag was on the roof and drove down Wolf Road. Motorists stopped and picked up the money. Elmhurst Road, and charged with retail theft. Security personnel said he took a gold chain and a wallet/keychain combination, total value estimated at $125, reports said. His court date is March 16.bull; Burglars entered an unlocked home under construction on the 100 block of Weller Lane between 3:30 p.m. Feb. 25 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 26 and stole 14 rolls of electrical wire, 26 sprinkler heads, 20 brass pendants, and 17 concealers. Value was estimated at $1,140.Wheelingbull; Burglars cut a hole in a wall between a room containing a trash chute and a closet in an apartment on the 300 block of Oak Creek Drive between 8:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 23, entered the apartment and stole an electric guitar, guitar amplifier weighing over 100 pounds, and a 9 mm handgun. Value was estimated at $4,250.bull; Vandals shot BB-gun pellets into the outer pane of a double-pane sliding glass patio door, screen door and vinyl siding at a home on the 200 block of Chariot Road between Feb. 12 and 26.
