County budget story was Page 1 news

I am confused. A recent article in the Feb. 24 Daily Herald regarding a $10 million budget surplus for DuPage County was on Page 5. In these never ending times of irresponsible government spending, we finally have a governing body that lives within the taxpayer's means.

This information should have been printed on the front page. DuPage County residents are fortunate to have a county board who understands fiscal responsibility. Can we send our county board to Springfield, or better yet, to Washington? To our county board members, keep up the good work. With the amount of taxes we all pay every year to our government, there should be a surplus. It is time for our government to stop the spending and live like the taxpayers. The well is dry.
