St. Charles North Star drill teams measure up

It has been a great season for the St. Charles North Star drill teams. Through their first five competitions, the varsity and junior varsity drill teams have competed against some of the best dance competition in the state. With only the Prairie Ridge and their own invitational left to go this season, the North Stars are ranked as one of the top teams in the state going into the Team Dance Illinois State Championships on Sunday, March 7 in Peoria.

The varsity team has earned nine first-place trophies and three second-place trophies throughout this season.

The North Stars also have earned three Technical Excellence Awards which are awarded to the most technically proficient team at the competition and two Artistic Excellence Awards which are awarded to the most artistic dance routine at the competition.

The junior varsity team also has been outstanding this season. They have earned 10 first-place trophies and are one of the eight junior varsity teams in the state of Illinois that have earned the chance to compete at the TDI state championships in Peoria on March 7.
