Election's over; remove the signs

When will politicians learn that it is not the number of campaign signs posted by their staff but the substance of their stance on the issues of the day that determine the outcome of elections?

Driving around DuPage County, I am appalled by the blight of campaign signs posted along its highways. County Farm Road, North Avenue - pick your thoroughfare of choice. Are 15 signs enough? Are 100 too many?

Does anyone remember Lady Bird Johnson and the Highway Beautification Campaign to rid our roads of unsightly billboards? The same issue holds true here.

So, to the Cronins, Dillards and Olsons (as you appear to be the biggest offenders), remove them post haste. The primary election is over. Issues and ideas win elections, not campaign signs.
