Lake Forest comes back, tops Vernon Hills

Caelan Rottman scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Lake Forest outscored host Vernon Hills 16-1 in the second quarter en route to a 36-30 win in a North Suburban Conference girls basketball crossover Tuesday night.

Claire DiMario added 9 points, including a 3-pointer, and 7 rebounds for Lake Forest (15-13).

Vernon Hills (16-11), which led 12-2 after one quarter, was led by Meri Bennett-Swanson with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Jessica Schwartz grabbed 8 rebounds, while Alana Coy scored all 6 of her points on a pair of first-quarter 3-pointers.
