St. Raymond's fish fry Fridays move to larger venue for its 7th year

For the seventh consecutive year, St. Raymond de Penafort Church in Mt. Prospect will host three Friday night Lenten fish fries on February 19, March 5 and March 19 between 5 and 8:30 p.m.

And due to their ever-increasing success, the fish fries - which last year witnessed long lines and few seats - will be held in the church's larger and more accommodating Parish Life Center (PLC), instead of the school cafeteria.

"We've been very blessed that these have taken off since they first began in 2003," said Krissy Olson, fish fry co-chair. "The fact that we're moving them to a larger facility is a testament to the support we've received from the parish and surrounding communities."

Both dine in and carryout meals - consisting of fresh perch or cheese pizza, French fries, coleslaw, salad, beverages, and Capannari's Ice Cream - will be available until 7:30 p.m.

Dinner costs are $8 for adults, $5 for children (over 2), and $7 for seniors. A cash bar will also be available for adults who'd like a beer with their meal, and perhaps another after dinner with friends and neighbors.

The entrance is on Lincoln Street, just west of the church's spacious parking lot on IL Hwy. 83 at the corner of Elmhurst Avenue and Lincoln Street.
