Kudos to 911, paramedics and hospital staff
On Jan. 8, 2010, I needed to make one of those dreaded 911 phone calls. My husband had gotten so sick so quickly and was having much difficulty breathing among other things.
I made the necessary call. From that moment on, we met with the kindest, most professional people one could ever hope to encounter. The 911 operator was reassuring that the paramedics were on their way even while she was still gathering information and asking questions.
The Mount Prospect paramedics and firemen were so very nice as well as efficient and professional. At Northwest Community Hospital, the emergency department staff and subsequently the staff on 4 North were thoughtful, pleasant, caring, and knowledgeable. Every employee we came in contact with at the hospital was wonderful.
We have not always had positive experiences in hospitals, but we surely did this time. My husband and I would like to thank everyone who helped us during this stressful, frightening time. It is so nice to have my husband back home and to have his health improving! An extra special thank you to Drs. George Cromydas and Michael Mangurten for their continual good care.
