Rail line won't help enough people

I have been hearing and reading over the past few months about the proposed high-speed rail system that will allow travelers to go from the Chicago area to St. Louis via Springfield with travel times around two hours.

While this will create jobs and spend federal dollars. I wonder what is the payback? How many people this project will benefit once complete?

Hundreds maybe thousands daily. Wouldn't this money be better spent on lowering travel times in and around Chicago, Northwest Indiana, Milwaukee and Rockford? How many people would that affect? Millions!
