Gun in Schaumburg home invasion found

Schaumburg police this week recovered a gun fired in a Jan. 6 home invasion and then hidden as suspects fled the scene.

Investigators' search was complicated by the blocks-wide area in which the suspects ran in different directions as well as the snowfall which immediately followed the crime.

Police said the gun - found under a bush - was fired at an officer who responded to the call on the 1000 block of Stonehedge Drive, resulting in charges of attempted murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm at a police officer for Leroy Sullivan, 31, of the 18000 block of Torrence Avenue in Lansing.

Sullivan as well as Lorenzo Vaughen, 32, of the 6600 block of South Justine Street in Chicago and Kendall Moore, 27, of the 200 block of West Kennedy Avenue in Streamwood also face two counts of home invasion with a firearm and two counts of aggravated unlawful restraint.

The house they invaded was targeted as a place to steal drugs, police said.

All three men are scheduled to be in court Monday.
