Elginbull; Antone D. Gregory, 30, of the 500 block of Elm Grove Drive, was arrested Wednesday after police served a search warrant on the residence and recovered a pair of guns and between 30 and 500 grams of marijuana, reports state. Gregory was charged with armed violence, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of marijuana. He was released after posting $8,000 bond and is due in court Feb. 24 at the Kane County Judicial Center.Fox River GroveJanet L. Rathmann, 48, of the 100 block of Harbor Road in Lake Barrington, was arrested by Fox River Grove police Friday on charges she forged a $9,600 check from an elderly woman she cared for and opened a bank account with it. Rathmann is charged with unlawful financial exploitation of an elderly person and forgery, both felonies. The charges allege she opened a bank account at Chase Bank in Fox River Grove Dec. 31 by presenting a stolen personal check from a 77-year-old disabled woman. Approximately $4,000 was then withdrawn from the account before the victim was aware money had been removed from her checking account. Rathmann was unable to post a $30,000 bond and was transported to the McHenry County jail.Kane Countybull; Luis A. Diaz, 20, of the 0-99 block of Alameda Drive, Carpentersville, was charged with misdemeanor battery Jan. 24 after a fight broke out around noon in the stands at 10 Indoor Soccer Center, 37W950 Mason Road, Elgin, according to a police report. A woman sitting in the stands said she asked other women sitting behind her to stop kicking her, and a fight broke out, involving the spectators and the soccer teams that were playing, the report said. Diaz pushed her backward into the stands, and hit her face, causing a broken finger and injuries to her mouth and nose, it said.bull; Two handguns one a Smith Wesson, the other a Rossi were stolen out of closets in a house in the 40W600 block of Stoneridge Court, Elgin, between 3 p.m. Nov. 25, 2009 and 1 p.m. Jan. 25, according to a police report.
