St. Charlesbull; Vanessa Aguirre, 26, of the 1100 block of White Avenue in Aurora, was charged Friday with retail theft, according to a police report. Security at the Von Maur store in the 3800 block of East Main Street observed Aguirre select seven items of clothing and add a "Free People" sweater with a retail value of $138 into her purse. Aguirre entered a fitting room and when she exited, she gave the seven initial clothing items to a store employee. Aguirre then left the store without paying for any items. Security detained her and found the sweater in her purse with the tags still attached. Police said she had three previous convictions for retail theft. bull; Four tires with rims were reported stolen from a Lincoln MKX while parked at an auto dealership on the 2500 block of East Main Street between Friday and Saturday, police said. The estimated value of the tires and rims is $4,000.bull; The rear window of a 2004 Honda Element was reported shattered Friday or Saturday while it was parked on the 300 block of Redsky Drive, police said.bull; Anthony Michael Gapastione, 26, of the 900 block of Pine Avenue in Roselle, was charged Saturday with retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at Walmart in the 100 block of Smith Road observed Gapastione select a bottle of Oil of Olay and place it into his sleeve. He then went to the electronics department and selected three printer ink cartridges and also concealed them. Gapastione then left the store without paying for the items, but store security detained him until police arrived.Genevabull; Someone driving a white sport utility vehicle stole 13.03 gallons of gasoline at 3:01 p.m. Friday from Citgo, 206 E. State St., police said.bull; A manager for the Home Goods store, 706 Commons Drive, has been charged with retail theft and theft over $300, according to a police report. The accused is Deanna R. Richard, 44, of the 900 block of Addison Avenue in Lombard. Police said three times on Jan. 2 and 3 she made fraudulent merchandise returns to obtain cash totaling $329.99. She examined the cash register for cash transactions, printed a duplicate receipt, made false price tags for the items, attached the tags to items in the store, then presented them to a cashier as a return. She also stole $150 in merchandise Jan. 19 by putting items in a cart, telling an employee at the front of the store she had paid for the items earlier in the day, and walking out.Kane Countybull; Mario A. Alvarez, 20, of the 500 block of North Woodlawn Avenue, Aurora, was charged at 12:30 a.m. with driving without a valid license and underage drinking after his vehicle struck another vehicle at Dunham and Stearns Road in unincorporated St. Charles, police said. Alvarez was evaluated at a hospital, but no serious injuries were reported. bull; A Western salt spreader of unspecified value was reported stolen Jan. 15 from a driveway on the 38W200 block of Stevens Lane in unincorporated Elgin, police said.
