Mt. Prospect/Prospect Hts. Relay kicks off Feb. 2

The Kickoff Celebration for the 2010 Relay for Life of Mt. Prospect/Prospect Heights will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Prospect High School community rooms. Interested community members are encouraged to attend the planning meeting, as well as the actual event this spring. Relay for Life is the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society. This year's event will be held Friday and Saturday, May 21 and 22, in the Prospect High School stadium. From 6 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday, teams of 10-15 individuals will walk laps around the Prospect track in celebration of those who have survived cancer and in memory of those who have lost their battle. There will be entertainment, concessions, and several solemn ceremonies through the night.

The Kickoff Celebration on Feb. 2 is a great chance to obtain more information about the event, sign-up a team, meet the committee members, purchase luminarias, sign-up as a cancer survivor, or learn more about donating items for the raffle or becoming an event sponsor.
