FDIC moving to Schaumburg

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) has leased 150,700 square feet of office space in Schaumburg, according to ChicagoRealEstateDaily.com.

The Web site reports that the FDIC has signed a lease for the currently vacant space at 200 N. Martingale Road for three years, with an option for two more.

The new location will reportedly handle receiverships and asset sales for failed Midwestern banks the FDIC has taken over.

The FDIC will be a near neighbor of Career Education Corp., which recently confirmed plans to move ahead with a 12-year-lease of the long-vacant 11-story building at 231 N. Martingale Road in Schaumburg.
