Cook County Board needs Garrido
I endorse John Garrido, a Republican, for president of the Cook County Board for the following reasons.
John has not been endorsed by any of the major newspapers or Republican organizations. They have decided to endorse a politician with about 16 years of "experience" in the Illinois State Legislature. There was nothing negative said about John Garrido in those endorsements and they praised him for his first run at political office and said his political future is bright.
He is a Chicago Police officer with about 19 years under his belt. The problem I have with the other candidate is that I know what's going to happen if he wins the Republican primary. The Democratic machine will dig up all of his baggage from his 16 year of "experience" and destroy him and we'll end up with yet another Democrat in control of that office.
Plus, aren't the "experienced politicians" the reason things are so messed up now in Chicago, Cook County, and Illinois?
Grass roots Republicans have been wanting to promote up new fresh faces for a long time and John Garrido doesn't have political baggage. They can't attack him. They would have to focus on the issues for a change and how they bankrupt the city, county, and state. His knowledge and positions on the issues are excellent.
Who would you rather have as president of the Cook County Board an "experienced politician" or a cop?
I'm going with the cop.
