Brady, Roethlisberger pull out of Pro Bowl
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has pulled out of the Pro Bowl after a season in which he played with rib and finger injuries. He has been replaced by Matt Schaub of the Houston Texans.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger turned down a chance to play in the Pro Bowl because of a right shoulder problem that developed late in the season. Roethlisberger was the first alternate for the AFC and would have gone in place Brady. Once Roethlisberger turned down the opportunity, Schaub was selected. The NFL announced the change of AFC backup quarterbacks Wednesday.
