Donate old phones:Geneva High School student Alyx DiPasquantonio is looking for volunteers to help deprogram donated cell phones. These phones will be reloaded with 911 and given to seniors in the Tri-Cities for emergency use. The deprogramming is at 6 tonight at Urban Grille, 524 W. State St., Geneva. Cell phones can also be dropped off at the restaurant.Film on climate change:The St. Charles 9-12 Group will be showing the documentary video, "Not Evil, Just Wrong," at 6:30 tonight at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. It will offer an opposing view to man-made climate change. There will be a discussion afterward. Admission is free. It is sponsored by the Geneva Cultural Arts Commission. Four adult artist teams and three high school teams will participate. Voting for the People's Choice award will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 23. Volunteers are needed to staff the snow house and warming house from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. To sign up, visit genevarts.org call (630) 938-4530.H1N1 shots in Geneva:Geneva Township is sponsoring an appointment-only H1N1 flu shot clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at its Senior Center, 400 Wheeler Drive. The vaccine is being supplied by the Kane County Health Department. The Visiting Nurses Association of Fox Valley will administer the flu shots. Any township resident 55 or older who provides a form of identification demonstrating they reside in the township will receive a free flu shot. Medicare will cover the cost of the shot for those who are covered by Medicare Part B and who have their Medicare Card. Vaccines for all others will be $15.
