Career Education to move headquarters to Schaumburg
Hoffman Estates-based Career Education Corp., a global provider of postsecondary education programs and services, announced it will consolidate and move its corporate headquarters to Schaumburg.
The company will operate at Woodfield Pointe Office Center, 231 N. Martingale Road, where it will occupy the entire 317,198-square-foot, 11-story office building.
The Schaumburg location will allow Career Education to consolidate its current corporate office facilities which presently comprise nearly 450,000 square feet of space in five different buildings spread out across approximately 15 miles in Hoffman Estates. The new arrangement will result in a smaller footprint and decrease the company's annual lease expenses beginning in 2011, the company said in a release.
"In the interest of greater organizational effectiveness and efficiency, it was important to find a building that would bring all of our corporate functions together under one roof," said Gary E. McCullough, president & chief executive officer. "Our new headquarters will deliver aspects of convenience that employees have requested, including a full-service cafeteria and a state-of-the-art conferencing center."
CEC is scheduled to begin occupying the building in December 2010, and consolidation will be completed in March 2011.
The colleges, schools, and universities that are part of the Career Education Corp. family offer education to a diverse population of approximately 114,000 students across the world in a variety of career-oriented disciplines.
The more than 75 campuses that serve these students are located throughout the U.S. and in France, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and offer doctoral, master's, bachelor's, and associate degrees and diploma and certificate programs. Approximately one third of our students attend the web-based virtual campuses of American InterContinental University Online and Colorado Technical University Online.
