Possible plea deal delayed in Elburn teen's death

Resolution was delayed Friday for a St. Charles woman accused of obstructing justice in the heroin-related death of an Elburn teen.

Lindsey Parker's case was continued until 9 a.m. Jan. 29 by Judge Allan Anderson, at the request of her attorney, because he had not yet reviewed a plea deal with his client.

Vince Solano, said last week that Parker has agreed to plead guilty and is willing to testify against her co-defendants. Her sentence would be handed down after her co-defendants' cases go to trial or are otherwise resolved.

Parker, 24, whose official address is in the 4000 block of Royal Fox Drive, is one of three people accused of abandoning 17-year-old Michael York's body on a Chicago street, after his apparent heroin overdose at a December 2007 party at her home.

Parker missed a court date Jan. 7; her attorney said she couldn't make it to court because of a snowstorm. She actually lives on the North Side of Chicago, and takes two trains to get to court; one train was delayed by snow, causing her to miss her connection, Solano said.

Anderson made it clear that it is the last time he will grant a continuance, telling Parker and the attorneys that on Jan. 29 he expects them to present a plea deal, or to set a date for trial. And he scolded Parker about missing her last court date, telling her to do whatever it takes to make it to her next one.

"I will not accept another 'I could not get here' excuse," he said.
