Reid remarks: Intended to distract?

For most of Sunday, Jan. 11, the media was been buzzing with Harry Reid's comments about President Obama having light skin and does not speak with a "Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."

There has been an apology from him, while others compare other political gaffes and many have called for his resignation. Meanwhile, the country faces increasing unemployment, finances in shambles, the Democrats in closed-door meetings to discuss the mammoth health care reform that has more pork than health and bribery for the most stubborn of congressmen.

It makes me wonder if this quote from Harry Reid came out to distract the media and the American people from what really matters.
