Toews: We'll be fine

Worried?

Not the Blackhawks.

Angry about letting two wins slip away over the weekend?

Absolutely.

Somehow the Hawks found ways to lose to Minnesota on Saturday after leading 5-1 in the third period, and to Anaheim on Sunday despite outshooting the Ducks 43-12.

"We need to stick to the basics and what has worked for us," captain Jonathan Toews said. "It's worked until the last couple games. I'm not saying we got away from that, but as good as your team can be you're not going to win every single game, but we're sure going to try.

"We'll be fine."

The Hawks haven't lost three games in a row all season.

"Both games we did some good things and worked hard but didn't do enough to win, obviously," Toews said. "I don't think there's a loss of confidence or anything. We've weathered the storm before."

Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said following the loss to Anaheim that he still liked the way his team is playing.

"You need to recognize what it takes to win hockey games and why you didn't win and go off of that," Quenneville said.

Injury report: Marian Hossa and Cam Barker both could be back in the lineup Thursday against Columbus.

Hossa missed Sunday's loss with a lower body injury while Barker sat for the fourth straight game with an upper body problem.

Barker skated Saturday and Sunday and is making progress, according to Quenneville.

"We'll get a better assessment going into Thursday's game of where he's at," Quenneville said.

Tip-ins: While Patrick Kane had his 11-game points streak snapped on Sunday, Kris Versteeg extended his to eight games with an assist. Versteeg has 3 goals and 6 assists in those eight games- In 46 games this season the Hawks have only been outshot seven times, and not since Detroit did it on Dec. 23- Winger Jack Skille was returned to Rockford on Monday.
