St. Charles woman will plead guilty, testify against others in Elburn death

A St. Charles woman charged with obstructing justice in the heroin-related death of an Elburn teen has agreed to plead guilty and is willing to testify against her co-defendants, her attorney said Thursday.

Lindsey Parker, 24, of the 4000 block of Royal Fox Drive, is one of three people accused of abandoning 17-year-old Michael York on a street in Chicago after his apparent heroin overdose at a December 2007 party at Parker's home in St. Charles.

Defense attorney Vince Solano said Parker was prepared to plead guilty to the Class 4 felony Thursday, but the snowstorm apparently kept her from making it to court on time. Judge Allen M. Anderson continued the case to Jan. 15, warning that an arrest warrant could be issued if Parker fails to appear on that date.

Solano said his client has agreed to plead guilty in exchange for a delayed sentence to be handed down after her co-defendants' cases go to trial or are otherwise resolved. She faces up to three years in prison or probation.

"Lindsey has basically agreed to share what she knows," Solano said. "She's been truthful (with investigators) from Day One."

Parker, along with Maple Park residents Jordan Billek, 19, and Nathan Green, 23, were arrested last January, about a year after York's body was discovered, prompting a death investigation. Green also is charged with supplying heroin to Parker and York.

Both Billek and Green have pleaded not guilty. Parker and Billek remain free on bond, while Green is being held in the Kane County jail on a $125,000 bond.

Assistant Public Defender Thomas McCulloch, who is representing Green, had no comment on Parker's forthcoming plea. A message left for Billek's attorney Thursday was not immediately returned.

Billek and Green return to court Jan. 14 and 28, respectively.
