Tyler Watzlawick scored 19 points and the Hampshire boys basketball team raced out to a 27-10 halftime lead en route to a convincing 51-29 win over Marengo Tuesday night in the Whip-Purs' Big Northern East opener.

Pat Dumoulin added 8 points for Hampshire, which moved to 7-4 on the season with the win.

Huntley 44, Marian Central 42: Tyler Brunschon scored 18 points and Dylan Neukirch added 13 as Huntley (10-4) outscored Marian Central 13-9 in the fourth quarter to come away with a nonconference win at home.
