Jan. 5 last day to register to vote in Feb. primary
Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham reminds Kane County residents that the last day to register to vote for the Feb. 2 general primary will be Tuesday, Jan. 5.
Grace period registration will be available in the Kane County Clerk's Office only from Wednesday, Jan. 6 until Tuesday, Jan. 26.
The county clerk's office is open for registration from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. In addition, most libraries, municipal and township offices in Kane County do accept registrations. Registration will resume on Thursday, Feb. 4.
The Kane County Clerk's Voter Registration office is located in Building B at the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave. (Route 31), Geneva.
To register, a person must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old on or before the date of the election, a resident of the precinct for at least 30 days before the election, and must provide two different forms of identification, one of which shows a current name and address.
Kane County residents can check their registration online by going to kanecountyelections.com and click on "Are you registered" and following the directions on the page.
