Oak Brook cops: Man we're seeking is armed, dangerous

Oak Brook police said Saturday that the man they've named a "person of interest" in the killing on Friday of a Bolingbrook woman is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police are asking for the public's help in locating Jerry L. Hudson, 48, whose last known address was in Bolingbrook. Hudson also goes by the name "Shorty."

Police say Hudson is the ex-husband of Melissa Bridgewater, the 45-year-old woman who was fatally shot - police say she was killed "execution style" - at about 6:15 a.m. Friday outside the Doubletree Hotel on Spring Road.

Hudson has not been named a suspect in the case. Police say he is wanted for questioning, though, and that he made several threatening statements to Bridgewater shortly before she was killed. Police have been looking at Bridgewater's cell phone records as part of the investigation.

Hudson's family has not cooperated with investigators. and his friends and relatives might be hiding him, according to a statement from Oak Brook police.

Police describe Hudson as standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 215 lbs. Anyone with information about Hudson's whereabouts is asked to call the Oak Brook Police Department at (630) 368-8701.

Bridgewater, the mother of two grown children, was a guest at the hotel at the time of the killing. The DuPage County coroner's office conducted an autopsy Saturday, but no new information from the coroner's office was available.
