Napolitano failed to see the real risks

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano insists that investigators did not have enough information to keep a terror suspect from boarding a flight bound for Detroit, even though the father of the man told U.S. officials that he was concerned about his son's religious views.

The Homeland Security Secretary further hastened to assure people that flying is "very, very safe."

She also said that the important thing to recognize is that once the incident occurred, "everything happened that should have." I wonder if meant bringing a Dutch Tourist, James Schuringa was part of the plot to save the 278 passengers.

Ms. Napolitano, the only reason the plane did not blow up is because of an apparent malfunction in a device designed to detonate the high explosive. How reassuring can the American people are told by the Secretary Homeland Security says the system worked. What system?
