Photography at library:

The St. Charles library hosts an exhibit of unique photographic works by Daniel Teafoe. His subject matter is diverse and wide-ranging, from macro mode floral images to portraits of pop icons. There are 47 photos on display, including several original 3D/lenticular images. The exhibition runs through Dec. 31. Teafoe has also shown his work at the Campbell House, Fermilab and the Norris Center, as well as in Chicago, Oregon and London. The library is at 1 S. Sixth Ave. Go to st-charles.lib.il.us for more information.

Prairie Path plantings:

ComEd, in cooperation with DuPage County, is paying for and undertaking a planting program on the Illinois Prairie Path and Great Western Trail. ComEd trims the trees along the trails to maintain overhead power lines and prevent outages from fallen branches. Tree trimming during the past year left some stretches with "standing stumps." The county has identified the trees that need to be removed and replaced with a mixture of sumac, dogwood and viburnum bushes that grow up to 12 feet. The removal and planting is under way, to be followed by mulching.

St. Francis show honored:

Students at St. Francis High School in Wheaton will perform the school's production of "Auschwitz Lullaby" next month at the Illinois High School Theatre Festival. The production is one of just 18 from around the state selected for the festival. Judges selected the show after seeing a performance in November and interviewing the cast and crew. It's the third time one of the school's productions has been chosen for the festival, where it will be seen by theater students and educators from throughout Illinois. The curtain goes up at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 9 in the Center for the Performing Arts at Illinois State University.
