Ingleside woman gets probation for drug sale
An Ingleside woman who brought her two young children along on a drug deal was sentenced to two years probation Tuesday.
Carissa Allred, 22, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance during a hearing before Lake County Associate Judge George Bridges.
Assistant State's Attorney Matthew Demartini said Allred, of the 2600 block Cooney Island Road, drove to a parking lot on Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach around 6 p.m. on Sept. 8.
With her 1-year-old and 2-year-old daughters in the back seat of her car, Allred met with an undercover police officer and sold him a little less than one gram of heroin for $60.
Police waiting nearby stopped Allred's car shortly after she pulled out of the lot and recovered the three $20 bills police had marked in advance.
She was charged with felony drug delivery and misdemeanor child endangerment, but Demartini agreed to drop the child endangerment charge in exchange for her plea.
Bridges also ordered Allred to pay a $60 fine and to take a parenting class while on probation.
