Packers' Jolly in Houston court on codeine charge
HOUSTON -- Green Bay Packers defensive end Johnny Jolly was in a Houston courtroom to answer refiled charges that he illegally possessed at least 200 grams of codeine.
Jolly returned to court Tuesday in his hometown.
The 26-year-old Jolly was indicted last week for a second time by a Harris County grand jury five months after prosecutors dismissed a similar charge stemming from a traffic stop a year and a half ago.
Harris County prosecutors dropped the charges in July so lab technicians could become proficient with a new piece of equipment that measures codeine.
Jolly, who has posted $10,000 bond, has said he is innocent.
