Is Santa display of Christian faith?

In the Dec. 11 Daily Herald I read an article about a "Santa Claus" display in Naperville. The article reported that a menorah will be added to the display because, as quoted, "Chabad attorney David Fish said it would be illegal discrimination to display Christian symbols but reject the Jewish ones."

I agree completely and think the addition of the menorah is a wonderful idea. One question: what is the Christian symbolism already existing in the display? The article mentions only Santa Claus, who is certainly not a "Christian symbol." A figure based on one of thousands of saintly men, yes - but not a symbol of my Christian faith. Am I missing something - or was the Christian symbolism left out of the article?
