Man robs payday loan store in McHenry

McHenry police are searching for the person who robbed a payday loan store early Monday.

Officials said the man entered the store in the 800 block of Front Street at about 8:35 a.m. armed with a handgun and demanded money from the employees.

The man fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money, officials said. It is also unclear whether he left on foot or in a vehicle.

The three female employees inside the store were unharmed during the robbery, officials said.

The man is described about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 170 to 180 pounds. Officials also said they are checking the store's video surveillance for more clues.
