Downers Grove North prevails at Leyden

Downers Grove North proved to be the class of the field at the invitational hosted by Leyden on Saturday, winning all three relays and finishing with 267 points to top Morton (219) and Plainfield South (210).

Leyden finished third and got its best placement from Bobby Michalawski, who took third in the 50-yard freestyle (24.21).

Rolling Meadows finished sixth in the eight-team field and got a second-place effort from Artie Checchin in the 50 free (23.98) and a third-place finish from the 200 freestyle relay of Matt Slivovsky, Damian Fitzsimons, Checchin and Sam Schmid.
