A dozen suggestions for the president

President Obama has asked leading business and union leaders and academics to help him come up with innovative ideas for putting millions of Americans back to work. He didn't ask us ordinary Americans for advice.

I assume he won't see it if I wrote him a letter with my opinion, so I want to put it into your newspaper so that his advisers might tell him some of my opinions to put Americans back to work: 1. Stop the spendthrift war in the East and bring our troops home now. 2. Make it a punishable crime to lobby Congress, or to have Congressmen take bribes. 3. Secure our borders to keep out illegal aliens and drug dealers, and deport all illegal aliens from our country. 4. Give illegal aliens' jobs to students, the aged, unemployed and poor and other American citizens who may be losing their homes.

5. Coerce banks to give loans to those wanting to buy homes or those losing their homes. 6. Institute an "America First" campaign, and stop purchasing from Third World countries by retailers who have been maximizing their profits this way. 7. Stop building manufacturing plants in other countries, and return America to manufacturing. 8. Stop Obama from enjoying his worldwide vacation while developing a global economy, as America loses it's leading position in the world and is heading toward bankruptcy. 9. Halt the massive borrowing from other countries that will ruin the wealth of America's future generations. 10. Stop giving money to banks, business and other countries since the American commonwealth needs it. 11. Stop speculators from raising gold and oil prices every time the economy shows improvement. 12. Keep your campaign promises, including upholding the Constitution and having no closed-door meetings.
