Campton Hills man killed in single-vehicle crash
A Campton Hills man died Sunday night after crashing his van near Elburn, Kane County Sheriff's police said.
Jack A. Falzone, 56, of the 41W900 block of Burlington Road, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kane County sheriff's deputies, en route to assist Campton Hills police investigate an accident at Route 47 and Silver Glen Road around 11:51 p.m., saw a van traveling west on Route 64 near Wasco. The van was weaving from lane to lane on the two-lane highway. As the van approached Anderson Road, it began to skid, hit a guardrail on the north side of Route 64, crossed the road and drove off the south side. It hit a concrete culvert, and rolled on to the driver's side of the vehicle.
Falzone was not wearing a seat belt, police said, and there were no passengers.
Route 64 between Anderson and Hanson roads was closed for four hours while the crash was investigated.
Investigators haven't determined if drugs or alcohol use were a factor.
