Glendale Heights man fined for insurance fraud

The Illinois Department of Insurance fined a Glendale Heights man $100,000 for fraudulently selling life, accident and health insurance.

Lee L. Loomis was fined the department's maximum and denied a license after state investigators uncovered his scheme. Insurance department officials said Loomis collected more than $270,000 in commissions for the 52 policies he sold illegally.

Investigators also discovered Loomis had sold insurance in the name of two unlicensed entities and lied on his license application.
