How would a war tax and a draft fly?
Now that the President has made his decision, the honorable thing to do, that should have been done back in 2003 when we invaded, is impose a war tax and resurrect the draft.
That'd be one sure effective exit strategy. Americans would universally become keenly aware of what we're doing there. It also would provide a relief for our overly extended and fatigued professionals, form a reserve of civilian/soldiers, and send a clear message to the potentates of Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Mideast that they'd better accelerate our exit by cleaning up their act to prevent and impending permanent occupation.
What are your thoughts on a war tax and draft?
