Conservatives have misplaced priorities

Conservatives denounce federal spending for many social programs, health care, stimulus packages, etc. They cite the burden being placed on future generations by running up our national debt as a primary concern.

However, the cost of bullets, bombs and gallons of gasoline to fuel vehicles, not to mention the loss of life, is a cost that conservatives will raise no issue with. Federal dollars to save lives in the hospital - not OK. Federal dollars that contribute to innocent lives being lost, and the lives of America's soldiers - not a problem.

On top of that, we have a lousy system back home to take care of our veterans. Where is the concern over their future? Does the child who grows up without a father because he died in war not matter as much as the child who will incur our national debt? Am I missing something?
