Lakeland Madrigal Choir:
The Lakeland Madrigals will perform at the Lake Villa District Library on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. The Madrigals have been performing together for more than 10 years. Coffeehouses, bookstores, libraries, churches and private parties are regular venues for these festive traveling minstrels. All are welcome to attend this free program. Flu clinic at Stevenson:
Stevenson High School will host an H1N1 flu vaccination clinic on Sunday, Dec. 20, officials announced Monday. An estimated 2,500 doses vaccine will be made available at the Lincolnshire campus, a Lake County Health Department spokeswoman said. Clinic hours and reservation information were not yet available.
Perry lauded in Grayslake:
Former Grayslake mayor Timothy Perry has been named volunteer of the year for 2009 by village's Economic Development Commission. Perry received the award last week at the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce holiday installation dinner. The award typically goes to someone who devotes a significant amount of time on activities that support economic development in Grayslake. Perry is vice president of State Bank of the Lakes in Grayslake. He specifically was recognized for his service as mayor for eight years and as a trustee for five years. Perry at was on the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce board of directors from 1994 to 1998.
