John Dietz's fantasy winners, losers
Week 13 superstar
While Drew Brees did throw for over 400 yards, he was slightly outdone -- in fantasy terms anyway -- by Dallas' Tony Romo, who threw for 392 yards and had 3 TD passes. Romo doesn't have the most fantasy-friendly schedule coming up and he has been erratic, but it's becoming clearer that it's awfully tough to bench him because few QBs can post numbers like these.
Week 13 weakling
Quick question: This is December, right? The month for running backs? Well, you couldn't tell from the stats as, before the Sunday night game, we saw 16 players get at least 100 receiving yards and only seven RBs hit the century mark. The most disappointing back had to be San Francisco's Frank Gore, who managed just 25 yards on the ground, 37 on 5 receptions. He also lost a fumble. Gore had been hot, scoring in five straight games, but he picked a bad time to break that streak for fantasy owners who needed big numbers in the crucial Week 13.
