Barrington students make 'stone soup'
Remember the old fable "Stone Soup?"
Each year the children of Noah's Ark Christian Preschool in Barrington hear this classic story about people sharing their food in order to make a giant pot of soup. Then, every class makes "stone soup" from the children's contributions.
"We connect what they learn about sharing food with bringing in canned food to share with people that are hungry," said preschool director Mary Bradley. "Then one of our teachers, this year, Mrs. Brunner, takes the food to the FISH (Friend, I Shall Help) Food Pantry in Carpentersville."
