'Change' apparently benefits terrorists
Well here we are again, another less-than-stellar decision made by those people who control our daily lives. Attorney General Holder has made the choice that the GITMO detainees must come to the US in order to stand trial for the 9/11 attacks. This ALSO means that they will have the SAME constitutional rights as we do (true citizens). How exactly does this work? Please people explain it to me. If I go out and help to plan a large-scale terrorist attack in another country, will I then have the same legal rights as those citizens I am attempting to kill; or is it only in the United States that we kiss up to those who strive to murder our people?
Here is my next question: How exactly will these wonderful individuals be tried? What will a jury of their peers consist of? Will we bring more terrorists in so we can ensure that there is a jury of peers sitting there to determine the fate of those people? I know, why not get a jury of monkeys to sit and listen to the case at least the monkeys won't attempt to blow us up. They might attempt to rip off body parts, but overall not a bad match.
Of course with the detainees being given constitutional rights - you know the SAME constitutional rights they are against US having - there is going to be plenty of information that will be thrown out in court. While some of the statements and confessions were rendered under the use of enhanced interrogation tactics, those confessions will be tossed out because we were in essence being mean to them. Even though the techniques were legal AT THE TIME they were used, those touchy feely ACLU people will make it a HUGE issue.
So people, is this REALLY the change you all were asking for? If it is, congrats, you did a heck of a job! Now, how are we going to get through this new kinder, gentler and more terrorist-friendly era?
